Remember

Writer's picture: Maya KaulMaya Kaul

All across the world soldiers came and fought

And people lived their lives without a second thought

Many came back very distraught

Almost all came back with experience of being shot

We wear poppies to honor our saviors

For correcting other countries’ misbehaviours

We lost many to the horrors of the battles

This left many with their brains rattled

In flanders field poppies grow

In between the fearless souls

Who stood tirelessly in burrows

Withstanding the bullets that pierce holes

The trenches, an awful place

Stuck in despair in an enclosed space

Their thoughts stuck in their own head

With the images that give them dread

Honorable people suffered through this

For you to experience the bliss

Of life we were so very lucky to be in

Because of the soldiers in black and green

November 11th, lest we forget

And let us salute to the bravest cadet
